Led multidisciplinary teams of 6–15 engineers responsible for the Listings experience across web, mobile, and backend services. Engineering Manager responsibilities began in August 2022, with the formal title transition in January 2023.
- Managed performance and career development, sponsored an engineer's promotion to Senior, and coached Staff Engineers exploring a transition into management.
- Partnered with HR on hiring and interview calibration, connecting team needs with consistent candidate assessment.
- Drove engineering strategy with Product, Design, SRE, Platform, and Analytics partners while keeping architecture, reliability, delivery, and engineering standards close to the team.
- Led the team's extraction of Listings pages from a legacy Django monolith into an AWS architecture with independently deployable, event-driven services and a modern web application. Delegated technical ownership to Staff Engineers while aligning scope, sequencing, and rollout decisions.
- The team's migration more than halved response times, brought Core Web Vitals into green ranges, and strengthened SEO.
- Directed phased and blue-green rollouts for three critical services, including observability, incident response, on-call readiness, resilience, security, performance, and accessibility.
- Introduced responsible AI-augmented engineering through workshops, reusable workflows, coaching, experimentation, and company-wide collaboration with AI Champions and the CTO.
